项目矗立小东江之畔，扼守茂名城北未来动脉原点。俯瞰十里江景，也仰望内城繁华。纵横之间形成世界江湾都会格局，打造集工作、商业、文化、教育、居住等一体的复合大盘，与城市共同生长。

The project is located on the bank of the Xiaodong River. It has a great view of miles of the river, aswell as a prosperous city scene. As the city develops, the composite estate will assemble works, commerce, culture, education, and residence. A new setup of the world-class estuary metropolitan will form in the future.

回应当地工业城市形态，用简单的几何方块与纯粹的几何线条构建城市公共形象界面。大大小小的盒子母题凸显高辨识度的整体形象，形成多样性的统一，体现构成艺术。用包豪斯美学创造时尚的精品街区，重构城市意象。

Responding to the local urban form, the project utilizes pure blocks and lines to construct a public image for the city. Boxes in different sizes but acting as a unity improve the identification and show the art of construction. Bauhaus aesthetic create fashion boutique blocks and reconstruct the imagery of Maoming.

玻璃砖立方体顶部形成一个天井，使空间内部的光影更加虚幻而神秘。

There is a patio at the top of the glass block, making the light and shadow inside more illusory and mysterious.

暮色

夜景灯光下彩色的玻璃砖更加迷幻，模型厅高起的主体部分采用后衬白色铝板的条纹彩釉玻璃，在内发光的灯箱效果下产生了玉石般的质感。

As night falls, lighting makes the colorful glass bricks look more psychedelic. The main block on the top of model room, whose surface is striped color-glazed glass lined withwhite aluminum panels, produces a jade-like effect under the internal lightbox illumination.

室内设计利用大面积的白色涂料与蒙德里安三原色，体现了包豪斯的美学设计。天窗与墙壁的漫反射，将自然光线柔和的引入室内，均匀的光照效果使空间产生了美术馆般的质感。

The interior design uses large areas of white paint and Mondrian’s three primary colors to show the Bauhaus design principle. Natural light is led into the room softly by skylight and wall’s diffuse reflection, giving the building an atmosphere of an art gallery.

Material and Technology

这是一场象征技术的材料实验。站在技术快速革新的时代之中，东湾艺术中心用玻璃砖、金属网、印刷玻璃等新型材料在立面上进行拼接，在变化中记录时代触感，深植时代记忆。

In the era of rapid technological innovation, the Art Center is a material experiment that applies new materials such as glass brick, metal mesh, and printed glass on its façade. The feelings will be recorded and the memory will be planted deeply in the building during the flux of the times.
